With a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, Pilar Blasco began her career in public television. After joining production company Zeppelin, first as Creative Director and then as CEO, she developed programmes, daily fiction and primetime series.
Pilar currently holds the CEO position at Banijay Iberia, an alliance between the most important independent production companies of Spain and Portugal with the common aim of boosting the audio-visual industry. Banijay Iberia is behind some of the region’s best entertainment brands (MasterChef, Temptation Island, Big Brother, Operación Triunfo), new international IP (Your Face Sounds Familiar, The Bridge, Pioneers), original scripted titles (Hierro, Heirs to the Land, The Gypsy Bride, Amar Es Para Siempre, Doctor García’s Patients, Bosé, Rapa), and true crime documentaries (Where is Marta?, The Man Without A Heart), amongst many other formats.
She created the Young Adult division, undertaking the executive production of Anime series such as Virtual Hero and The Idhún Chronicles and the Spanish version of SKAM.
