Mauricio Leiva Cock

Mauricio, an honors graduate from Columbia University’s MFA program in film, has seen his work featured in prestigious festivals and labs worldwide, including Berlin, Toronto, Annecy, Palm Springs, Tribeca, and the Gotham, among others. He is the creator and showrunner of “La Cabeza de Joaquín Murrieta” (Prime Video), which received nominations for the Rose d’Or Latinos and Platino Awards, and “Ruido Capital” (Movistar), which won the Best International Series Award at IndieSeries Awards. Mauricio is also the co-creator of “Green Frontier” (Netflix), head writer of the International Emmy-winning “Falco” (Dynamo), story editor and writer of “Wild District” (Netflix), and consulting producer and writer of “Echo 3” (Apple TV+). His adaptation of Murat Mentes’ Turkish cult novel, “Double’s Dilemma,” won the prestigious Content London pitch.
Mauricio’s award-winning feature debut, “The Night of the Beast,” has been screened at over sixty film festivals worldwide, including TIFF Next Wave, Guadalajara, Transylvania, Cleveland, and Stockholm, and has been distributed in over twenty countries. As a script consultant, he has worked on various feature projects, including Disney’s Oscar-winning “Encanto” and the Cannes award-winning film “The Golden Cage.” Named one of the fifty leaders of Iberoamerican fiction by TTV and being part of the C21 100 List, Mauricio currently holds an overall deal with Amazon.
