Javier is the CEO of Beta Entertainment Spain, a joint venture launched in 2019 by the German independent film and TV giant Beta Film and the Spanish producer. Focused on entertainment, factual, and documentary content, but without neglecting fiction, the company based in Madrid has been growing steadily in both content production and revenue since then. Today, it also shares synergies with the new division Beta Fiction Spain, led by Mercedes Gamero and Pablo Nogueroles.
Before leading BES, Javier was the CEO of Fremantlemedia Spain for several years and also of La Competencia, a production company associated with Televisa Internacional. Some of his formats, distributed by Fremantle, Televisa, or now Beta Film, have achieved significant global success.
A graduate in Journalism and Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, Javier is a professor at various universities and master’s programs and has authored several books on television.
